The Shining Door

Went upstairs in a bar to use the toilet and was greeted by Jack steering towards another door which led to the men’s toilets lol cool concept I thought!

Just rewatched the longest night and honestly it’s such an underrated classic.

Everyone always talks about the big, obvious episodes, but this one deserves way more love. The tension throughout is brilliant that proper eerie vibe running under the usual humour.

The moment when the shadow moves and Del realises something’s not right still gives me chills. And then the reveal that it was little Lennox the whole time? Absolutely perfect. Such a great mix of suspense and classic comedy payoff.

And of course, when Rodders goes off to grab the cigarettes you just know it’s not going to be straightforward. Typical Rodney timing, adding even more chaos to an already tense situation.

It’s episodes like this that show why Johns writing was so clever balancing suspense and laughs without missing a beat.

What are your favourite parts from this episode?
