Just on the song choice alone, I’m 99% sure Asuka is retiring
The song “My Way” is literally Frank Sinatra singing about how he’s glad he followed his heart and didn’t comfort to the opinions of other during his career. When I saw that match, I could tell Asuka was going all out trying her absolute hardest to fight through and put on an amazing show in spite of her persistent knee injury. And the end cemented it to me. He crying and hugging Iyo just shows me that she’s done. She was one of my all time favorites, and if I’m right, I wish her nothing but the best in retirement.
