Newly diagnosed at 42. Reading “Scattered Minds” by Gabor Maté on suggestion. Never heard my brain described so accurately. Prescribed concerta. It does absolutely nothing.

And I mean, nothing. If you told me it was a placebo test and a sugar pill I’d absolutely believe it. I know you’re not supposed to self-medicate. But just to see if it was the dose, I doubled one day, then tripled the next. Before going back to the prescribed 18mg dose till my next psychiatrist appointment for medication check up to update her on it’s absolute non-effect.

Even at triple dose, not a thing.

And I mean: Not. A. Thing.

No change whatsoever. No noticeable effect whatsoever. Nothing.

If I wasn’t opening the bottle myself and swallowing the pill in the morning, I’d have no idea I took anything at all.

So… What’s my problem here?

I’m taking my prescribed dose beyond the two day experiment to see if it was just dosage, and waiting to consult my doctor.

But really. What on earth?

Anyone else have absolutely no reaction to this medication? And what does that mean?
