how would you install the railing?
When we purchased this house the previous home owners had an outdoor porch railing installed here. I obviously want to update it and do it properly. We purchased the newel post and everything but unsure the proper way of making it look built in. We have one man wanting to just attach the newel post to the slant and then another one wants to cut out part of the stairs to install. What should I do?
Edit: I am hiring this out to a professional. Like I said in the original post two people have came out but I do not like the idea of just anchoring the post to the wall and I don’t like the idea of carving out two of the steps to plop the post in. I am looking for ideas on how to make this look built in while keeping the integrity and safety of the railing! Thanks
