Shopify App Store billing question for SaaS founders.
We have an existing SaaS product with external billing already in place (Stripe, etc.) and are now adding a Shopify integration.
The Shopify app itself is free and mainly acts as the integration layer. The actual SaaS product is paid outside Shopify.
Trying to understand Shopify’s expectations here:
- Is it acceptable to use Shopify Billing only for users acquired through the Shopify App Store?
- While continuing to bill non-Shopify customers directly via Stripe?
- Or once the app is publicly listed, does Shopify expect all merchants using the platform to be billed through Shopify?
Curious how others are structuring this.
