Recently, I was fortunate enough to be able to interview Simon Raymonde for my Music Industry Postgraduate course. In addition to being generous, humble and completely down-to-earth, he gave some fascinating insights into how he views music, the industry and his label Bella Union. Most telling when I asked him if he would it the same again if he got the chance his replied "No. I would just be a musician forever. If I could, I would still be in the Cocteau's and we would still be making music".
