I’m looking into a 2 person bedroll for backpacking. Correctly just using 2 separate bedrolls but they just get all messed up when we’re sleeping and I think a 2 person bedroll would be better. I know I might have to compromise weight but something with a little more cushion after a hard day hiking sounds heavenly. Do you have any suggestions?

I think my donkey roadside cleanup project might actually be working! Ripley started joining me on my roadside clean ups as a bit of an experiment to see if her presence could increase awareness and community involvement. We seem to get a lot honks, waves, people stopping to take pictures or coming out of their home to pet Ripples, which is great.
We’ve been picking up trash along the road for a while now, and there’s been a slow decline over time but recently there’s been a big drop.
You might remember Ripley and I helped at a community event few weeks ago for Palms Sunday and a ton of people lined up to meet her and get pictures. So many people said they’d seen us out picking up trash on the side of the road. WELL since then, there’s been WAY less litter. Today everything we picked up consolidated into one bag!
Coincidence? Maybe but I like to think that my experiment is working and some sort of donkey-powered accountability is taking hold!
PS sorry Rips idk if those flowers are safe for donkeys 😬

Another success Trash Day! Ripley and I pick up trash along the road today.
Ripley handled bag duty and she took her job very seriously. Ripples is great at multitasking, she kept a close eye on everything, making sure no trash (or snacks) were overlooked. I couldn’t ask for a better supervisor.
Road update: It seems like the person who was drunk driving on my road either got caught, crashed, or reassessed their life choices—because there were WAY fewer beer cans today and a lot more empty soda bottles. I’d like to think someone out there is making better choices.
She was doing SO well. Truly inspirational. A model of self-control… for approximately 12 hours.
Things went awry when Rips discovered a low-hanging tree and decided diets are stupid anyway.
Ripley chose chaos!
