Hi, I’m an international student graduating this May, and I’ll be going back home right after graduation. I’ll be returning to Chicago in June to start work.

I’m trying to figure out the best way to move my stuff from Champaign to Chicago. I still have my lease until August, so my current plan is to pack everything up, leave it in my apartment, then come back to Champaign when I return to the U.S., stay for a night, and move everything to Chicago the next day.

The issue is I don’t have a car and I can’t drive, and none of my friends will be around to help. I’m not really sure what kind of service I should be looking for.

• Should I hire movers, or is there a specific type of service for this kind of move?
• If I hire someone to move my stuff (1-bedroom worth), can I ride with them as well?
• If not, how do people usually handle this—like making sure your stuff gets picked up properly but also getting yourself to Chicago?
• What’s a reasonable price range for this kind of move?
