Montgomery Ward J1903

I have a machine that I am struggling to find much info on at all, other than the manual online.

I was given this machine at a barn sale because he thought it didn't work (we plugged it in there and nothing happened) but when I got it plugged in at home it worked (it was his outlet that didn't work).

I was able to pull up the manual online and took it all apart to clean and oil it.

It sometimes works well, sometimes does not.

The feed dogs, while they are moving around as they should be, are not feeding the fabric through and it's causing fabric to bunch there and thread to break (sometimes top thread and sometimes bottom).

When it is stitching (somewhat) and not getting stuck, the stitches look wonky. Meaning, I have it set to straight stitch and it's making jagged stitches.

I have changed fabric, needle, thread, adjusted tension, stitch setting, stitches length.....and I don't know what to do next.

I am looking for ideas, so if anyone knows anything about these machines or can point me to videos/resources (other than the manual) I would be so appreciative. It's a lovely machine and I would love to be able to fix it and use it

Hello all, I have a Montgomery Ward J1903 that somewhat works, somewhat doesn't.

The issue is that the feed dogs are not feeding the material through, which is causing it to jam and break the thread (sometimes too & sometimes bottom).

I can see the feed dogs moving up and down so I am not sure why they are not feeding the material.

What I have done so far ...I have taken the machine apart as much as I can (some screws are stripped) and cleaned it, I have oiled according to the manual, I have changed needle, thread, material, I have tried it on every different setting combination I can think of......and I don't know what to do from here.

Any advice would be amazing.
