Might be throwing myself to the wolves here but...Just looking for any advice.
Welp, it happened. Been in the saddle for about a month now. Cruising to work, lady changed lanes in front of me. I, panicking, did the first thing you're not supposed to do, grabbed that front brake and down I went at somewhere around 45 mph. Immediately dismounted, and off i went across the road for about 50ft.
Thankfully, I didn't hit anyone, and no one hit me, no property damage. Unlike my poor bike, my left arm, and my confidence, which were now in shambles(swollen from the impact but not broken which is wild)
Yes I was wearing full gear, leather, helmet, gloves, the works. No I have not taken the MSF course. Yes I know I should, and I absolutely plan on it.
It's not her fault. I blame myself for everything I did wrong. I was going too fast, wasn't scanning ahead enough, and was not respecting the bike. She was kind enough to stop and provide first aid, she had a kit.
Don't be me yall. I mean, wear your gear, but don't be an idiot. I was lucky enough to walk away with no broken bones. I do plan on fixing her up and getting back on, however with a whole different perspective.
Thanks for taking the time to read. I appreciate and welcome any thoughts and criticism, lord knows I need to be whipped into shape.
EDIT----I really appreciate yall taking the time to share your wisdom and personal experience. I clearly have alot to learn.
