you can now run hackathons on Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini

Hey r/hackathon,

We just shipped something that changes how you actually participate in hackathons.

TAIKAI now has a native MCP connector, which means your AI can connect directly to the platform and act on your behalf.

The problem it solves

You know the loop: build something with Claude or Cursor, copy the description, open the platform, paste it in, add the links, upload the images, go back and forth until it's right. It's not necessarily a blocker, but friction that adds up.

With the MCP connected, that loop is gone.

Tell your AI what you built, what problem it solves, drop in your demo link, and your submission gets created without switching context once. It can also update your project or check requirements mid-build.

How to connect it

MCP endpoint: mcp.taikai.network/mcp

Works with Claude, Cursor, and any MCP-compatible client. You can also connect directly from your TAIKAI profile settings.

Happy to answer questions about the MCP setup if anyone runs into issues.

gm,

I’ve tried quite a few platforms over the past few years, and most of them I never went back to.

These are the ones that actually stuck for me:

  • TAIKAI: better experience overall, especially for european based hackathons
  • Devpost: biggest variety, but also the most crowded
  • MLH (Major League Hacking): great for student-focused challenges

I’ve also checked out Hackathon.com, but didn’t end up using it as much.

Feels like each one has its niche depending on what you’re looking for.

Am I missing any good platforms?
