So i managed to desolder all the capacitors that were faulty on my original xbox. Now I'm trying to install some and i got a massive cold solder joint. Ive tried using more solder and wick even drowned it in flux. Used different temperatures since this soldering kit i got doesnt tell me how much temperature to use for the solder. I'm about to give up and throw this in the trash. I knew how to solder decently but I had a stroke a couple of months back and my hand and eye coordination sucks real bad now and I no longer have well steady hands. Can anyone help? It's actually gotten me to cry out of frustration. I burnt myself twice already..

I have a 1.1 xbox and I got it from marketplace the console doesnt power on. It did once for a split second when i tested it at the sellers place. It shut down almost immediately. I opened it up and saw these capacitors are bulging a tiny bit. Power button doesn't work at all but spamming the eject button does at least show some power and the fan trying to spin up. Could it be just these caps I have to replace or do you guys think it could be the psu? I didnt see any bulging caps on it. https://imgur.com/a/ARIXTsb

Bought one Xbox from Facebook marketplace. Guy said it worked and we tested it and it did work. Came back home with it and it doesn't turn on anymore. It does try to boot if I click the eject button but that's it.

The one at the bottom doesn't work at all. Bought it today this morning and they charged me $200 just for the console. JUST the console. No games or controller. I was playing Halo on it until it shut off and it doesn't attempt to try and start again.

I know these two are fixable, but I've already wasted $300 on both. And I have no more money to continue to spend on Xboxes. I'm really disappointed. Just wanted one to just get my head off things and get lost in a few games for a couple of hours.

The store said I must've done something to it and aren't honoring the exchange. They don't even have a refund.

I took both apart and one is a 1.6 model and the other is a 1.2 I believe. Has an extra RAM slot so you can get it working with 128MBs. I honestly just want a working console and some cash along with it. Maybe $100 extra and the consoles. I know it's fixable but I'm so mentally drained I can't work on these. They both have the DVD dongle but no DVD remote.

Im based in the nyc area so I can ship it out of need be. Sorry if its a long read. I'm just really frustrated and saddened.
