So, i have been dabbling with airealm. A solo adventure to waste time, mostly. Created a wizard character who essentially wants to create a universalist school of magic. I am at higher levels now, and created a principle of, well mixing spells of opposite schools. So far i have just one spell which is

**Kinetic Shield**

4th-level abjuration/evocation (universalist) Casting Time: 1 reaction, when hit or missed by a melee or ranged weapon attack Range: Self Components: V, S Duration: Instantaneous When you are targeted by a melee or ranged weapon attack for the first time since the start of your last turn, you can use your reaction to cast this spell. The attack is resolved normally. Whether it hits or misses, you gain a +5 bonus to AC against it. The impact is absorbed and released as force energy. Each creature of your choice within 15 feet must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes force damage equal to the damage rolled for the triggering attack. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage.. Universalist Property: Counts as both Abjuration and Evocation.

I could use on input for balance sake, i have more ideas but wanted to ask about balance and opinion first. so i could use the input to balance other spells.

I also have a subclass feat, not sure what level to put it, or if it is even balanced.

**Understanding of Weave Theory** Universalist Feat When you successfully cast Counterspell against a spell of 1st level or higher, you stabilize fragments of the unraveling weave. Until the end of your next turn, you may cast one spell you know or have prepared without expending a spell slot. The spell must be 5th level or lower, and no higher than half the level of the countered spell. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
