Can I take macro and micro at different CCCs for Berkeley Econ?

I’m an incoming UC Berkeley student planning to declare Economics, and I’m trying to figure out whether the intro econ prerequisite can be completed using macro and micro from two different California community colleges.

I took:

  • ECON P102 Principles of Macroeconomics at Porterville College
  • ECON 4 Principles (Micro) at Saddleback College

On ASSIST, Porterville lists ECON P101 + ECON P102 as the articulated courses for Berkeley’s intro econ requirement. Saddleback lists ECON 2 + ECON 4 for the same requirement.

Since ASSIST shows each college’s macro and micro courses as a pair, I’m wondering whether Berkeley Econ accepts a mixed-college combo: macro from Porterville + micro from Saddleback, assuming both are UC-transferable and each college has active ASSIST articulation with Berkeley.

Has anyone done this before for Berkeley Econ, or gotten confirmation from Econ advising/L&S? I already emailed advising, but I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with this.

Thanks.

Is Berkeley STAT 21 online non-proctored?

Has anyone taken STAT 21 / STAT W21 through Berkeley recently, especially online or over summer?

I’m trying to figure out whether the exams are non-proctored or if they require an in-person/proctored final.

If you took it recently, was it:

  • fully online and non-proctored?
  • online but proctored?
  • in-person final?
  • dependent on the professor/session?

Any recent info would help. Thanks.

Anybody taken Scott Sakamoto for Calc 2 (Math 185) at Santiago Canyon recently? Trying to figure out if the class/exams are non-proctored or if he uses lockdown browser/webcam/in-person testing. Especially for online sections. How was the workload and grading too?

Does anyone know if Irvine Valley College has cameras inside actual instructional rooms/labs, especially science labs?

I know campuses have hallway/security cameras, but I’m talking about inside the classroom itself. I couldn’t really tell if there were any in my lab room.

Accounting Proctored

Hey everyone,

I’m signing up for an online accounting class at Saddleback and noticed it says “additional third-party applications will be used for proctoring.”

Does anyone know what that actually means in practice? Are they using something like Proctorio, Respondus LockDown Browser, or live Zoom monitoring? How strict is it?

If you’ve taken an online accounting course there recently, what was your experience like with exams and proctoring?

Trying to figure out what I’m getting into before I commit—any insight helps.

I’m currently waitlisted for Stat 21 this summer at Berkeley and trying to figure out my chances.

Does anyone know roughly how many people usually drop the class? Or like what % of the class ends up opening up?

I’ve seen mixed things — some people say stats classes don’t really have a ton of movement, but others say waitlists usually clear a bit during the first couple weeks.

For context, I’m around #8.

Just trying to decide if I should stick it out or make backup plans. Any insight from people who’ve taken it (especially summer) would help.

Incoming Fall 2026 transfer trying to plan summer/fall enrollment.

Does anyone know if UGBA 101B or STAT 21 prereqs are hard-enforced in CalCentral? Like, will the system block you from enrolling/waitlisting if the prereqs aren’t completed or posted yet?

Econ advising told me ECON 100B prereqs are not system-checked, so I’m wondering if UGBA 101B and STAT 21 work the same way.

Not trying to ignore prereqs — just trying to figure out whether CalCentral blocks enrollment for transfers before transcripts are fully updated.
