The top 10 GREATEST characters in DBL history. This is quantified by dominance, longevity, and impact in their era. But not defined by it as some can supersede others if dominant enough in one aspect. Feel free to add input or disagree
Majin Vegeta - Single Most complete character in dbl history best offense, best disruption, top 2 defensive character (first being his partner who is the greatest defensive character in dbl history), best green, aoe damage with lock in, easy access to type neutral, one of the best combo characters, pseudo undeniable cover change in auto counter and top 5 in terms of longevity. The final send off of game breaking characters that invalidate everybody below him, his impact echoes into the game design of today and is specifically why they try to make characters one dimensional or with a specific niche. Kit wise is still the most complete kit in the history of dbl. Took a literal game philosophy shift, a multitude of counters, and geniune number power creep to knock him out. If he were to get modern day stats he'd no doubt be number 1 yet again.
Beast Gohan - The meteor that took out the dinosaurs, single highest peak of dominance from a character in dbl. If you had him you were given a free ticket to godrank as matches would be decided off of one blue card and he had double cover change, everything premium at the time in one kit alongside a top 3 support character of all time designed specifically for him, nothing stood close to him. Ushered in an era where ultras were dropped b2b2b2b2b just to level out a new meta.
Zenkai SS2 Gohan - The face of zenkai ball legends and the single longest reign of any character id say probably ever in DBL. Over a year and a half of dominance where every match would have him in it, the biggest bully in dbl where characters were designed off pure numbers.
Android 17 and 18 - Fuck these guys in particular alongside the guy below them, The face of cover null and everything jam packed into one. Huge reason as to why beast had to nuke everything in the game, zero weaknesses in offense alongside good defensive tanking, you either had them or you were gonna get bullied in brutal fashion, suppressed a goated ultra in SV and made the headlining unit MUI feel lackluster in comparison. One of few characters to dominate after an anniversary shift and was only ever truly driven out by beast
Blue Vegito - Only time I ever genuinely felt compelled to take over a year off of DBL, this guy is everything encapsulated into the idea of combos for eternity. In an era where swapping out characters meant everyone was on cooldown regardless of who you picked, as soon as this guy touched you (pause) you were down a character guaranteed. You could put your phone down go use the bathroom wash your hands and get something to eat and he'd still be comboing you
Namek Goku - Game breaking blue on release as it was in an era where backfloating had zero negative impact he was a guaranteed win character who forced the devs to change the game. Was also given an amazing zenkai which allowed him to flourish with SS3 goku and Gohan. The face of Son family shenanigans
Purple Broly - introduced blast armor on strike and absolutely annihilated everything in his path, the hype for this character was unparalleled at the time and dude did not dissapoint, the beast of the holy trinity and ushered in game changes as he broke the game
Ultra Namek Goku - Probably the most controversial spot as im sure most people will have him in their top 3 or 5, I will go over whats great and then counter. This guy is the most valuable ultra besides MV that I think you could possibly be blessed to pull on release, a timeless mechanic alongside a myriad of broken abilities. MV 2.0 as he was a yellow saiyan with good disruption and a broken aoe green, alongside the best mechanic the game has ever seen, he was Kobe to MJ in style. However I only feel compelled to counter with this character specifically because I feel many people view him with rose tinted glasses and overrate him to some extent. His dominance was not nearly to the peaks of any of the characters on this list because he himself has never been undoubtedly number 1, on release that title belonged to Frieza, shortly after a broken ultra in S4V came out and suppressed him even further as the devs certainly realized just how toxic of a monster they created in Goku, he himself has never been an overwhelming monster on defense nor offense when compared to his peers however he did outlast them all because of his one mechanic and aoe green, hes like the Kevin Durant of DBL as long as his team is great he'll be great. I still love this character and hes without a doubt a top 3 ultra for me, just wish I pulled him when he came out.
Ultra Super Gogeta - The first ultra and the first realization of how fucked the rest of dbl would be as more ultras came out. The most hype anniversary alongside the blue bros. Man was an absolute menace and had a very good long reign, you truly felt the difference in power when facing him
Green Beerus - the introduction of broken LF zenkais, the dude was untouchable on zenkai and shitted on everything, type disadvantage be damned. However this is specifically zenkai beerus as prior to it he was beyond dogshit
Edit: 9/10. Revhan - Interchangable imo these top 3. The single reason why revival was so toned down. Dude had people wanting to pull an EX character just to counter the cancer this man brought to Hybrids. Two characters in one on release, if you think blue revhan was bad this man was the founder of that bullshit.
HM. SSJ Bardock, MVP17, Pan, probably can continue down the list but I cant think atm and am getting tired of writing. Feel free to add
