I’m looking for some expertise on a vintage clarinet I recently picked up. All signs currently point to it being a Gladiator stencil made by H.N. White (Cleveland, OH) somewhere in the mid-1930s.

However, I’ve run into a few technical details and features that don’t quite line up with that conclusion. I’m trying to nail down three things:

  1. Who actually manufactured it? (Is it truly an H.N. White, or another maker?)
  2. When was it made?
  3. Which specific model was this stencil based on?

I’ve attached a few photos of the keywork, branding, and serial number below. If any vintage woodwind enthusiasts or H.N. White historians could take a look and share some insight, I’d greatly appreciate it!
