Dear Parent and/or Guardian,
I am writing to share information about a concerning situation and to ensure you hear directly from me on this matter.
On Friday afternoon (April 24, 2026), a school bus driver on your child’s route consumed alcohol before completing the day’s scheduled runs. While all students were transported to their destinations without incident, the actions of the driver have been reported to both law enforcement and Child Protective Services, and a full investigation is currently underway. Additionally, effective yesterday morning, a new bus driver was assigned to your child’s bus route.
I take this matter very seriously and I understand that this information is upsetting. Please know that the safety and well-being of students remains my highest priority.
Because this is an active and ongoing investigation, school system staff is not able to share additional details at this time. I sincerely apologize for the concern and uncertainty this situation may cause for you and your family, and I appreciate your patience as we work through this process. If you have any questions or concerns specific to your child and their transportation needs, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s school—staff are here to support you.
