I am applying for a DoD engineering job in Yokosuka, and I wanted to know what is the longest period of time you can continuously stay in Japan on SOFA status. Is there a set limit like 5 years or can you pretty much stay indefinitely as long as the job is needed? The posting says "permanent" but don't know if that really means anything or not.
