So, I'm sure you probably heard about these types of rants a LOT and you'll hear more. But whenever I read an OI, why does it feel as if all the FLs are just Victoria's Secret supermodels? And why are dark skinned ppl always referred to as being "barbarians"? Manhwas may not always have an accurate historical depiction, but most of them clearly show the beauty standards. First, let's start with the beauty thingy.

FL is a beauty pageant:-

I love strong female leads like Medea Solon and Asha Pervaz, but it becomes a little hard for me to focus on fights when the artists just want us to focus on the FL's beauty. I get it, I love them beautiful women. But Asha in the first pic looks like as if she's in a shampoo commercial💀. Also, why are FLs always PURE WHITE when they constantly fight under the sun? Can I just get atleast one tanned woman😭. It's as if the FL is on a photoshoot for her next magazine cover but it's just her fighting. Maybe I'm complaining too much but I want RAW, MESSY, ENRAGED FLS who look like shit and will completely intimidate me because I want to go like, "Yeah, I'm hella scared." Moreover, I have never noticed a single FL having scars on her face from war. Somehow, she's always very unscarred, and beautiful, as if she came out from a facial. I mean, do you get it? I want more OIs which don't really focus on the FL's beauty in every panel bit rather on her personality, or how dangerous she is. I WANT SCARRED, RAW FLS.

Freckles and ugliness:-

I don't understand manhwa or manhuas, but are freckles really considered an "ugly" feature👹? UTOT has some serious issues with labelling Maxi as "ugly" and EVERYONE ignoring her except the ML because no way in hell am I believing that this woman is ugly just because she has almost invisible freckles on her face💔.

It's not only her, but it's also Leah from PM and Lucina from IBTDKB who are labelled as "ugly" 😍. Do you really want to throw a petite, fair, spotless white woman on my face and say she's ugly? Then let me say it out loud and clear, manhwas really show stupid standards , because they are too scared to show a woman who is scratched, messy, old, has dark circles under her eyes and what not.

Malnourishment:- Okay so... this might be a bit controversial. But almost in EVERY one of those "Wild Brown ML x Pure Saintess White FL" where the FLs are considered "ugly", they are always malnourished. That's not my problem. But the problem is the smut. The entire body is short but somehow "those" features are always too big, as if it's a malnourishment fetishism. Of course, the FL is always TOO SMALL as compared to the ML, and they throw in smut here and there. The limbs are too thin, the stomach is snatched, and yet, the breasts and hips are bigger than Jupiter oh my God. While it may be possible for some women to have full round breasts or hips while being malnourished because of genetics, but sometimes it really feels it's just a smut factor at this point. Another example may be Na Hae Soo from "Tears of a withered flower".

Now coming to the colour.

What can I even say about this? It's always middle Eastern people being labelled as barbarians---not to mention, they will come off as either the whitest shade of brown or the darkest shade of white💀. If you know what I mean. Why are they always depicted as WILD? Like, have you seen Riftan? Always like a sex starved man, and from what I see from other reddit posts, the novel further proves that he doesn't redeem his behaviour, or anything. Dark skinned MLs are always like the beast, who needs to be chained up or tamed up or they will ravish the naive, fainty, pure FL🪲. It's just so... icky for nothing. So ugh 🤢. I absolutely hate the representation. Artists and authors will draw the most beautiful, well dressed, lavish people, yet, they will be barbarians. Oh well, why? Of course they're not white😃.

OI manhwas have an obsession with western culture.

And even if you read a manhwa with middle Eastern culture or Arabic culture, you'll again find the whitest FL ever.

I don't have problem with white FLs, but can I ATLEAST get one representation of a different FL, and a different ML? Like I want to see the FL being the more intimidating one, and the ML being the innocent one. Let THE ROLES REVERSE BUT I KNOW YOU WON'T.

Also why are some of the female villains always after the "Good for nothing only wild in bed trash personality" ML? Like girl, you'd be so much better with your brains and beauty without chasing that man😞. It feels so forced sometimes.
