I am currently working a lovely state job that has great benefits, pay, and work-life balance. However, in the next few years I want to have children and I'd love to be able to stay home and raise them, at least before they start school. I have a bachelor's degree in Spanish, and I'm trying to think of what I could do for evening/remote work when I start having kids to have some flexibility and freedom during the day. I am willing to go back to school to get a master's, if that helps. I have thought about social work so I could do talk therapy in the evenings, but that field seems hugely inundated with practitioners and I'm not sure if it's a great fit for me, given that I have a difficult time compartmentalizing work from home (a skill I am working on). I am also interested in legal as I have done some legal assistant work in the past. Just looking for any ideas of ways I could steer my career towards something that is flexible, evenings only/set your own schedule and that isn't entry level. I do not want to do data entry or customer service jobs. Any advice or discourse is greatly appreciated!
