i got hired as a new grad SWE (my dream job) but due to contract/budgeting issues, i needed to be shuffled around. not much availability in my BA, so IT/help desk was the only option. it sucks i had my dream job in my hands and now im going to IT, but what would my pathway be? btw my compensation and title is still for swe associate

1 year at current role and then look for swe early career roles again? or swe 2? how do i make sure my skills don't atrophy? thanks

Got an offer as early career SWE but funding was cut and now need to shuffle me around. Manager can only find IT (help desk). Would you take it? Im relocating and i literally already signed for an apartment lease and shipped my girlfriend's car through auto transport, lollll. 💔
