I’m currently studying for REG and plan to sit for the exam in June. Currently, I am 2/4 (passed FAR and AUD). I typically study a few hours every night since I work full time and married with two kids.

I’ve always worked in industry with no public accounting experience, and my only tax background relates to a few courses I took during college. If I have the notes in front of me I can come up with a lot of the answers so I understand in practice what needs to be done, but between all of the nuances, formulas, and exceptions, I’m not doing well without the notes during MCQs and TBS.

Any tips for those of you who passed REG but didn’t have tax background? For reference, I am using Becker and about halfway through M3. I plan to get exam day ready before taking the exam and wondering if I should coast through the videos/initial “homework” questions, then just hammer a bunch of problems a week or two before the exam. What worked for you?

Thank you!
