Hey everyone!
So i need some help in regards to being let go prior to my contract ending. Here are some facts:
- Position was an 18 month mat leave (i started a bit into the 18 months which is why the numbers might not make sense)
- Position started on June 3, 2025
- Position end date was "approx." Oct 12, 2026
- Manager reached out in an email stating that come June 9, incumbent would be returning and my contract ends on that date.
- When asked about lump sum or bi weekly payment, claimed ESA would pay out 2 weeks.
- Clean conduct record and no disciplinary bubbles to be concerned about. Performance review also great.
- Work in medical field and am under a union (CBA makes no stipulation that i can find regarding this)
- Spoke with legal friend who said this termination has nothing to do with the ESA, but about unhonoured contract.
I feel like i dont have a case here. I would love some more opinions and let me know if you need more questions!
Thanks a bunch.
