I just received a weird text message from a friend who is in an online MFT graduate program. She is trying to recruit people she knows to provide therapy for as part of her practicum. It’s not role-playing—it’s actual therapy. Have any of you guys ever heard of this strategy? It seems problematic and that her graduate program should be providing her clients rather than instructing her to solicit people she has established relationships with.
