I’m not sure if this is the place to ask, but I bought a car (2010 mercedes c300 4matic sport, automatic transmission) from a dealership and I’ve been having multiple issues with it. I got the car because at the time, the maintenance and payments alone would have been manageable. The car has been leaking coolant I’ve had to fill it up everyday. I see a coolant puddle under my car every time it’s parked. There’s also the smell of burning coolant whenever I drive the car for more than 30 minutes. Sometimes, I also end up hearing a “thonk” kind of sound from the engine. After my drive to school the engine is also smoking on a hot or cold day. (Smoke is white). However, when I go to the dealer because it’s on a warranty, they can’t seem to find any issues and keep telling me that the car is fine. They idled the car for an hour and test drove it for around 15-20 minutes.

I’ve gone to a repair shop that my family has trusted for years to have it double checked if there are any issues and they’ve found radiator issues. They said that the radiator had to be replaced. Which at that point, I had them replaced. The car drove fine for a day but then it started gushing out coolant. When I poured coolant in, it gushed out like a waterfall from the pipe. I went back to the dealer and they were about to deny anything was wrong with the car until I showed them a video of what happened.

I guess what I’m asking is If it’s possible for me to return this car to them as I don’t feel safe driving it. I haven’t made any payments to the car, but at this point with all the issues I’ve had with it I don’t really want to pay for the car anymore when I’m paying so much just for repairs. If it was regular maintenance I would be happy to do those, but I’m just afraid that the car will break down a month or so from now and I’ll still be paying for it. I’m just not sure what to do or say. DW I know that any advice over here isn’t technically legal but looking for another perspective on the situation aside from this deal being horrible (obviously).
