Booked a Thrifty rental at ORD for July and now I’m worried I somehow got a “too good to be true” rate.
4 days, compact/economy, around $450 total in the confirmation email with under-25 fees included. The booking page also says “Liability Protection” and “Protect the car”.
What’s weird is that if I try to book the exact same thing now, even from another browser/account, prices are easily 2-3x higher.
Also noticed that when I open the booking from the email link, the total drops to about $312, but I guess that version just doesn’t show taxes/airport fees/young driver fee.
So now I’m trying to understand if i genuinely got lucky with timing or if Thrifty is about to cook me alive at the counter with extra charges
Coming from Europe so I have zero experience with US rental companies lol.
Anyone rented from Thrifty at ORD recently?
