UPDATE**** Request for south jersey or philadephia journalist: Burlington County megachurch pastor investigated for sexual assault of minor child. Board Members covered it up. Church members never informed. Pastor was not removed from power.
I have been given permission to share the attached documents, and the statement below. This is written by a family member of the pastor accused. I will not be responding in the comments, I am acting only as the middle man to share the statements of those involved. Here is the original post
I am one of Mark Willey's daughters.
I have believed my whole life that courage is not the absence of fear — it is the decision to speak truth in spite of it. That belief has cost me more than I can fully say. It cost me my family. It cost me years of silence I kept out of love for a community I grew up in and still love deeply.
I want the people of Fellowship Community Church to know: I did not come to this easily or quickly. I spent years looking for another way. But I have come to understand that silence in the face of what I know is not an act of love. It is the opposite. And I cannot be the person I have fought to become while staying silent about this.
Courage has a cost. This is mine.
What follows is a letter I have been writing for a long time, and the official police records from a 2019 investigation by the Mount Laurel Township Police Department and the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office. These are public documents, obtained legally through an OPRA request.
I did not do this to hurt anyone. I did this because I could not do otherwise and remain true to myself.
To everyone in that community who showed me real love — you know who you are, and so do I. That love is not undone by this. Nothing could undo it.
I wish you the kind of peace that lives on the other side of courage.
