Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice from people with real experience.

I'm from New York, USA. I graduated with a bachelor’s in business in 2020 (right when COVID hit) and then completed my master’s in accounting in 2021. I never took the CPA exam, mainly because I’ve realized I genuinely don’t enjoy math. I know that sounds ironic given my major, but I chose accounting for personal reasons at the time.

Since graduating, I haven’t worked in an accounting role. I ended up getting a job at a law firm as a paralegal through a friend, and over time I’ve realized I actually enjoy the legal environment a lot it feels more aligned with me.

Now I’m at a crossroads. I’m considering going back to school to become an attorney, but I’m also wondering if I should push myself to pursue the CPA instead, even though I’ve been out of school for a few years and don’t have accounting experience.

For those who have been in either field (or both), what would you recommend? Is it worth trying to go back and pursue the CPA at this point, or should I focus on law school given my current experience and interests?

For context, I’m in my 20s.

Any insight is appreciated.
