Hi everyone!

I landed my first internship in commodities for this summer a while back and I start in about 2 weeks. I just have some questions for you all as I want to make sure I take advantage of the experience.

For background I am going to be an oil analyst intern at a midstream company in Calgary. I am in between my third and fourth year at school, and I am majoring in Economics, and I am pretty techincal in terms of programming.

I just have a couple questions and would be very greatful if you guys wouldn't mind sharing some advice:

- I have never lived in Calgary so I do not know anyone coming in which is a bit intimidating. This is my first time moving to a completely new city alone (college excluded), so what is a good way to meet people my age who are also interested in the energy buisness?

- Do you have any tips for the internship or anything you wish you knew when you were first starting out? My goal is to be an energy trader. I am very interested in natural gas, and spend a lot of my personal time making tools and doing analysis on it. But obviously have my mind open to any commoditiy I can get oppertunities in (power, oil, etc.) So if there is any general career advice or Calgary specific advice for this summer, I would be very grateful to hear.

- Should I be attempting to network with more people this summer? Or trying to do coffee chats? I always hear about people in parallel feilds to me (like consulting or traditional finance) doing that but unsure if it is the norm in commods.

Thank your time!
