Just like the title says, I want more James Ortiz! I've scoured the internet for every clip and interview I can find and I have to say it is seriously lacking. I know his face was only seen once in the movie during his little cameo- but he is literally the supporting actor. I've listened to podcasts where they don't even include his name when they're listing the cast members. Interviewers talking to Ryan frequently don't even mention James at all. Every once in a while Ryan will make a passing comment here or there. It's honestly rare that Rocky is brought up much at all, even though he is one of the main characters of the film. It really bothers me, because the puppetry alone is such a feat of artistry and creativity on top of the fact that Rocky is such an amazing character.
I'm assuming it's partially because he didn't have a press tour clause in his contract because they didn't originally plan on keeping him as the voice of Rocky. And my other guess is that because his work has been almost exclusively in theater until now, he doesn't need the press to keep getting the steady stream of work he's gotten up until this point. He's definitely the top of his field and his next project is at the Metropolitan Opera, which is very impressive.
But the world needs more charming geeky humans who are passionate about their craft! Anyone else know why we're not getting more of him in the media?
