Bad review potentially - not sure how to handle this
Just wanted to get some other opinions on what to do in this situation explained below. It probably shouldn't bother me as much as it is, but it is. I started a small business this year and reviews mean a lot to me. I have 100s of 5 star reviews selling my home grown collector plants on MP (not the only place I sell, but it's great for local sales).
I arranged a porch pickup for yesterday, for me to leave the plant in a box and the customer to leave the money, as I wasnt going to be home. My toddler ended up having a medical emergency (he's absolutely fine now, thank goodness), and I ran him to urgent care and forgot about the pickup.
About 10 minutes after the arranged pickup time, I received a message that the plant wasn't on the porch (and then an auto message in the thread from MP that I have a new review).
At this time, I was still at the doctor, and as everything was ok, so I replied to customer my apologies and about the emergency. I told her I wanted to make it right, and that if she came back the next day she could have the plant for free, as well as a few gift plants for her inconvenience.
She responded that, she as a mom, understood and agreed to the new pick up. She came today, and picked up, and voiced her understanding once again, and me, my apologies. She actually apologized to me also, which leads me to believe she thinks she could have handled things differently and possibly reached out before jumping the gun ( and I'm assuming leaving a bad review). I dont know how well versed she is in MP or if she even knows it can be deleted or that I can't see her review yet.
After she left, she then sent another message thanking me. So I know undoubtedly she is happy now.
I didnt feel right mentioning the review or asking her to change it. If I did so, it would seem too transactional. I can't see her review until its been 14 days or I rate her back.
Should I reach out in a day or 2 and ask her about possibly changing it? Should I just assume she will do that on her own.
Really appreciate any insight and thank you!
