are gaming handhelds worth it ?

i have a series x i have mostly played on a console i wanted to build a pc but it was way too expensive i already had a 4k sony bravia 43 inches tv so i felt that a console would provide me better value then i bought a gaming laptop its a budget option lenovo loq i5-12450hx with rtx 4050 it runs games decently at 1080p but after 4k and the console experience gaming on the laptop feels pretty bad especially considering the fact i tend to play single player titles now i have saved up some money roughly amount equivalent to $425 here i can get either an msi claw ultra 7 variant or a rog ally in this price range brand new i dont have a very robust second hand market here i was wondering since i have never played on a handheld are handhelds worth it i dont travel alot i play on series x my bedroom tv while laying on my bed and its great though lately i have been busy and i dont get to play games that often someone said that handhelds tend to boost your gaming productivity that you tend to game more .

sorry if i am not good at conveying my problem english is not my first language

can someone help me make a decision weather to buy a handheld or not because i am super confused.
