Painted a couple studies in the studio this week
I really wanted to see how different Cremnitz white (left) and titanium (right) are, so I painted a couple studies. It's hard to tell in the photo, but the difference felt like night and day. I remember hearing that Cremnitz is translucent and slightly warmer, but I wasn't expecting the colors to get more muted. The teal under layer definitely comes through a lot more with Cremnitz. I just wish I didn't screw up the sky with too much burnt umber in the second one but meh, it's just a study. I'm finding out I like translucent pigments WAY more.
