I have recently released my first volume of an epic fantasy saga, and it's on KU!

Hey folks, I have released The Companionship of the Brave I: Rally and Seek, and I am looking for any honest reviews, even those with genuine critique!
There are many pages like any other epic, so you won't have to worry about running any time soon, especially if you've limited time for reading.

This developing saga is near and dear to me, as I spent a good number of years on it, with volume 2 underway.
I really want it to have a bright future, so any bit of support will help a lot.

My goal for this saga is to be entertaining above all else and have the story stick with you throughout the years.
Anyway, without further ado, here is a short blurb!

--A grieving Guardian is drawn into a dangerous quest of missing children, ruined villages, monstrous threats, and a mystery that grows far beyond what anyone expected.

Epic fantasy with warriors, mages, outcasts, ancient powers, and a companionship forged through danger--

Furthermore, for those interested in rich lore, I have also created a "wiki" of my saga that can serve as a guide while reading, on a site called World Anvil - https://www.worldanvil.com/w/kyfeia2C-the-living-world-commandervictory

Enjoy!

I am making an Epic Fantasy Saga, and its first volume has been released!

Hey folks, I have recently released my first book ever, and the first volume of a six-part epic saga!
It's surreal to think I put in years of effort and sweat to develop a story and its world, and now it's out there to be enjoyed.
Honestly, I can only hope you are entertained and watchful of its future, which I am crafting at full speed ahead, considering volume 2 is well underway!

I'm especially open to feedback of any kind, especially if there are any tricks to self-promotion of my product.

I have thought about this a lot while building my own epic fantasy setting: how many fantasy races/species is too many?

I’ve looked at settings like Forgotten Realms and Elder Scrolls, where there are many races, cultures, subgroups, and lesser-known peoples. That kind of scale can make a world feel huge, but I also worry that adding too many races can dilute things if they don’t feel distinct.

In my own setting, I currently have around 11 major races, each with its own history and culture. I’m also considering adding a few minor races that don’t have their own nations, but instead live within the same realms as larger powers.

My concern is whether that adds depth or risks making some races feel like they’re just “there” to fill space.

How do you approach this in your own worlds? Do you prefer fewer races with deeper development, or larger worlds with many people, as long as each has a clear purpose?
