Guess I’m just looking for shared experiences/support. I have been working so hard this pregnancy (my first) as a type 1 (for 20 years), but my sugars have just been hard to manage. I see my endo multiple times per week to make changes, and we are all at a loss. A1C has been as low as 6.3 and as high as 7.0 this pregnancy, and that’s with me having an extremely healthy diet with near zero “cheat” days, chugging water, using auto mode on the pump, exercising after every meal, waking up to correct multiple times through the night, etc.

I’ve also been having ketones regularly. Some of these are “starvation” ketones from not having enough carbs. Other times I think I’m producing them from being high, but I am producing them at BG levels around 170. I’m trying to balance these two things, but have been to the ER multiple times with large ketones.

Baby has been healthy so far, except a small ventricular septal deficit (VSD) in his heart that will be looked at once he is born.

At our 32 week growth scan this week, baby was huge, measuring 5lb 11 ounces. Head was >99 percentile, measuring 5 weeks ahead. Stomach was 99 percentile, over 3 weeks ahead. Legs measuring average.

If you had any of these issues— higher A1C, ketones, VSD, or measuring this big…let me know how it worked out for you. Did you deliver early? What type of delivery? How big was baby? Any complications? I know my doctor is concerned about pre-eclampsia. I appreciate anyone who is willing to share their experiences!
