I’ve made a couple post about having a lean issue after supercharging my 1995 1.8 NA Miata. No one seemed to come close to diagnosing the issue which I don’t blame them especially not seeing it in person. After taking to a shop (and personally spending days days myself) and still not being able to diag I went to my trusty tuner to adjust my fuel maps until I can find the issue. Turns out a not so uncommon issue with Megasquirt is the MAP (mass/manifold air pressure sensor) “wears out”. My barometer was reading 89% and I didn’t know what this meant before a professional like my tuner looked at it as I don’t know anything about tuning cars. I do not know if this is something that normally happens such as the MAP sensor breaking in or if this is a somewhat rare issue but I don’t want anyone else to go through the months of head ache I did to find this issue. If you are running a Megasquirt (in my case a MSPNP2) and are running leaner and leaner over time look on tuner studio and read your barometer %. It should be close to 100 obviously. If not get the tune adjusted or send the unit in for warranty/ repair.
