If your iPhone keeps doing this:
Audio starts playing normally through the loudspeaker
Then randomly switches to the ear speaker (super quiet, like a phone call)
Happens when unlocking your phone, switching apps, or even mid-playback
Happens in multiple apps (ChatGPT, audiobooks, etc.)
Only temporary fix is restarting or force-closing
👉 This is NOT a hardware issue
👉 This is NOT your speaker going bad
👉 And most “fixes” online don’t actually solve it

ACTUAL FIX (this is the one that works)
Go to:
Settings → Accessibility → Audio & Visual → Live Listen
Then:
👉 Turn OFF “Remote Control”

🧠 Why this fixes it
That setting allows other Apple devices on your account to interact with audio sessions on your phone.
In reality, it causes iOS to:
Misinterpret audio as a “call-style” session
Route sound to the ear speaker instead of loudspeaker
Get stuck there
This bug affects:
Text-to-speech (like ChatGPT)
Audiobooks
Media playback in general

🔥 Important
This issue has been reported for a long time
It affects multiple apps—not just one
Most people never find the real cause
Turning this OFF immediately stops the problem

🧨 Bottom line
That Remote Control Live Listen feature is broken and causes audio routing bugs.
👉 Turn it OFF and your audio will stop switching to the ear speaker.
