Context: I’m an old collector of Planet Studios pins. Planet Studios had the Marvel license to produce lapel, pens, and jewelry for Marvel from 1987-1996 (and later other comics). Most older collectors recognize these pins from comic bookstore spinner displays on their counters in the 90’s. Planet Studios had a marvel catalog of almost 400 pins. There were a number of pins that were meant for production, but never came to be. One character that never received a pin was the invisible woman, even though the catalog contained a number of pins for the other members of the fantastic four.
A few years ago, fans made After Planet Studios and started creating fantasy pins to finish off or add to the original catalogue. One proposed project is an invisible woman pin, but the condition would be is that pin would have to fit the vintage cloisonné style of pin (1 to 1.5 inch) so it could match the other pins of the catalogue. It seems like pain collectors prefer modern pins just because you can do a lot more with images nowadays.
So here is the question: would people in the fantastic four community be interested in an invisible woman lapel pin, even though it would be made in a vintage style?
Second question: if you would be interested, what price point? (These fantasies pins are now running around $15. From my understanding the project would like to bring these prices down, but because of poor sales, the prices essentially includes a donation/premium to try to keep the project going)
I’m attaching a number of images so you can see the style of the vintage fantastic four pens and the recent additions made by After Planet Studios.
We are seeking any input, whether it is positive or negative, and of course if you would be interested. Because if this community wouldn’t support this pin, then I don’t think it would be wise to create this pin.
Thank you! And I hope this post doesn’t break any rules or upset the moderators.
