Been building a game, Runeswick ... a dark fantasy IDLE RPG with offline progress, skilling, crafting, combat, and dungeons, and a big part of making it has been using AI.

I’m not using AI like a “click one button and it makes the whole game” kind of thing. For me, it’s been more like something that helps me work faster and figure things out.

A lot of my process has been:
• Using ChatGPT to help me come up with ideas for systems, progression, balancing, fixing bugs, UI ideas, and planning out features
• Using Cursor to help speed up coding, debugging, and cleaning things up
• Then using my own programming knowledge to test everything, fix what doesn’t work, and actually turn it into a real game

It’s still early, but the game is already fully playable and I’m improving it constantly.

Would love hearing how other people are using AI in their own games too, especially what’s helped or what’s caused issues.

Been building my own game, Runeswick ... a dark fantasy idle RPG with offline progress, skilling, crafting, combat, dungeons.

It’s heavily inspired by the kind of progression systems I’ve always liked (RuneScape/idle RPG style), but I’m building it my own way with a focus on queue-based progression, meaningful grind, and constant updates.

I used Chatgpt to build Prompts based on my ideas of the game, any issues, new features ect. Then I took those prompts and put them into Cursor to allow cursor to build the game for me. That being said tho i do have knowledge in Programming and have programmed a few odd games myself and thought i'd give Vibe programming a go! Its definitely not as easy as everyone makes vibe coding out to be with all the challenges you face building a game. Having background experience in developing games & programming definitely makes this a lot easier.

Still early, still growing, but it’s fully playable right now and I’m actively improving it almost daily based on player feedback.

Would love to hear what you think: https://runeswick.com/

Always open to feedback!
