Looking for feedback on a prayer to Hekate. Am I asking for too much?
Hail, Lady Hekate, Goddess of Three Roads;
Torch Bearer, You lead us through the darkness in our time of need;
Keeper of the Keys of the Cosmos, who can unlock all gates;
Savior, You led us to catch the cancer* early;
Accept my reverence, Soul of the World.
Kindly hear the prayers of a student of Your ways.
Please help me grow braver, wiser, and stronger, Teacher.
I pray You, help me learn to accept my death with calm equanimity, Psychopompe.
Please protect me and mine from all that would harm us, Averter of Evil.
Goddess of Thresholds, Guardian at the Gates, You Gladden the Hearts of Men.
May this in truth be so.
*Because I know people are curious, I'll tell you it was ovarian cancer. That cancer is normally caught when it's far too late to do anything and thus is usually a death sentence. I survived.
This is meant to be a morning and evening prayer to Hekate. While I'm interested in general feedback, my main concern is that I'm asking too much for the amount of Kharis I've built up. I've only been following her for about three months. I've only made a few offerings to her - one Deipnon and some libations of tap water. I have dedicated the following to her:
- de-cluttering the house (a work in progress),
- all my reading about her (Hekate Liminal Rites, A Circle for Hekate, Bearing Torches: A Devotional Anthology for Hekate, most of Liber Hecates: The Book of Hekate, and useful posts on this subreddit)
- writing and memorizing my morning and evening prayers to her (another work in progress, this is my fifth pass)
- the first fifteen minutes of most days after I check on my elderly mother. (It doesn't sound like much, but it's a promise I've been able to keep. However, the fifteen minutes often stretches to an hour or more - like today.)
- saying my morning and evening prayers, of course
Thanks in advance.
