Posting so others know. I was robbed in the middle of the day at a park in Santiago Chile. Someone over powered me from behind and grabbed my gold necklace off of my neck. It had a tricky clasp so it was not something I would've expected. There were other people around and apparently this is very common in the area, which I did not know. Park was Cerro St. Lucia, which was recommended by fellow travelers.

And yes I don't need any "you shouldn't have worn it, you should carry mace, you should chase" because that is not helpful at this point.
