Cautionary tale

Yesterday on Reddit, I came across somebody who posted a picture of a dog who was running lost that looked like the clone of my dog. Mine, who is not lost, is shown here sitting in my lap. Long story short, apparently the owners of this other dog decided to dump him. They left him in a park in the middle of the city not far from where they live. They live in an apartment and keep him out on a deck all the time, including at night. He’s a puppy. Apparently he barked a lot and barked at strangers and their apartment building neighbors complained. So they dumped him - Yesterday. I just figured out the exact shelter where he is and he’s not available for adoption yet because they’re giving some time to the owner. A neighbor of the family identified the dog on Reddit. I’m going to call the shelter in the morning to talk to them some more about it. The cautionary tale is, I wish that more people accepted the fact that these dogs are not always appropriate for every situation. They are very smart dogs and just because they’re cute or you think it would be fine or that it would make your life better, doesn’t mean that it’s going to make their life better. I feel so bad this dog is at a shelter right this minute and it could’ve been avoided. Say a prayer that I can help speed up the process and that this baby never has to live like this again.
