To your handsome beau, as the hour draws

The tenderness in each fingers’ grip

The grasp of love I alas let slip

A rosy blush spreads on your face

What do you feel, covered in lace?

Do you see the yearn in my stoic sight?
Do you grasp the sorrow from what is lost?

Do you pity what mistakes have cost?

There are things beyond debts, my dear
Acts of fate that cannot be reversed
A consequence I must pay, my dear
Such is the blight of an affection cursed

I can never hold you again, my dear

For what I bring can never please

The dreams I have of our solstice night

We glowed under the fireflies’ light

Why couldn't I keep that sacred pact?

The gossamer threads can’t hide the fact
It wasn’t you who caused this to fail

So, this burden I must bear, my dear
It is mine, and mine alone
From me you must depart, my dear
And let me endure it on my own

Splitting

I couldn’t imagine, until the thoughts became reality
I was a pitying observer, watching from a distance
Hearing stories, nae folk-tales of the affliction, 
“Crazy, psycho, batshit, dangerous”

One day the tidal wave hit me, a gloating tsunami 
No ebbs and flows, just voraciously moving water
Shattering what I knew, what I was, what I felt

You couldn't imagine, the thoughts that are my reality
The affliction, as I called it, more of a pestilence
Suffocating every second of myself until all it leaves is
Ash from the infernal flame of its wrath

Crazy, crazy they say, I said
But do you know what it feels to be 
Rendered into two, split like an axe-hit branch?
Do you know how it feels to see yourself dive in
To a void of wretched agony, to not be able to stop yourself from
Choking in self-induced pain?

A man is given a brain, a tool to help navigate the world
But what if that tool is a knife, crafted to stab its wielder
The duty to go on, exsanguinated, presses on me
I condemn this tool as a curse

If love is the gift given by God 
If fear is the antithesis of love
What do you call a love that is built on fear?

This love provides me no warmth
It’s a tundra, leaving me frozen in two
One part caring, the other
Ruined

I just wanted to thank all of the psychics for all of the work that they do. It's really amazing how much you have all helped people here, and how much comfort you give.

This sub can be one of the saddest because of all the loss, pain, anguish, and grief that is there for ones seeking truth, connection, and comfort. However, it is all of you that are providing the aforementioned and I am really touched to see how much effort and care y'all put into it.
