I have plans for the later parts of this year to dig out this section of garden to create a wildlife pond for wildlife such as Toads, Frogs and hedgehogs etc. I want to do this without a filter or pump does anyone have any tips to make this wildlife pond successful- Thanks!

I was doing some gardening and saw this ant carrying what looked like brood from the nest. Does anyone else think the same?
