What the hell is going on with the economy?
I want to talk about something I've noticed specifically with fast food but it can be expanded into the broader economy. In-n-out is making a killing. Never ending lines going around carparks, they seem to have the winning formula, fresh tasting food at a reasonable price. They pay their staff well so when you visit they're always happy, polite and fast. And yet every other fast food place is decaying and closing their restaurants (wendies just closed 200 stores) which seems to be due to customers being sick of the disgusting food, 1 person manning the restaurant causing slow waits, expensive etc. It seems businesses would rather die than improve? Why aren't companies just innovating or providing better value/products/service to customers but instead seemingly rather just go bankrupt? It's stunning to me all these "struggling" businesses exist but they all suck ass and not one ever just copies the blatantly winning strategy of in-n-out. This seems to be happening everywhere in every industry, it's never ending enshittification at all costs, even if they go bust in the process
