It breaks my heart to write this but I’m thinking of rehoming my lab.
We got our dog Tucket from a breeder roughly a year from now and we’re seeking to surrender him, due to serious health complications that require me to be on bed rest for preeclampsia. I have exhausted all possible options for his care and, unfortunately, can no longer physically provide the attention and activity he needs.
I also do not have anyone available who can take him in since baby’s dad is now out of the picture and with the uncertainty surrounding my recovery and caring for a newborn, I cannot guarantee his well-being long-term. Any advice? We’re from Chicago Il and he’s a black Labrador Retriever, just turned one and he is neutered. This decision is incredibly difficult, but I want to ensure he is placed in a safe and stable environment where he can be properly cared for. Any help regarding best way to go about it or advice would be greatly appreciated as I have limited amount of time before I get admitted
