Hi everyone! I’m american but because of personal reasons I decided to study in Europe.

I’ve been hoping to find some type of work/ opportunity in the US when I am off school in the summers to make some money for me to use. Could anyone help me with ideas of places to apply/ look for jobs other than coolworks.com and understanding what I can do to increase my chances of getting a seasonal job? I’ve heard that there are some opportunities to get jobs in the summer but would studying outside of the country affect it?

I currently have very limited work experience from a program in my high school which I know is not very strong in this case. I have also considered looking into jobs at national parks/ summer camps but I would prefer to be as close as possible to a city with a good social scene.

I know it may already be too late to work this summer so I am making plans to do this next year.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi everyone! I’m a US citizen who has lived abroad for almost my entire life. I’ve always been interested in living in the US and I always hoped to move for college. Due to some circumstances, my family and I decided that the best course of action would be for me to study in Europe since it takes 3 years vs the 4 in the US and it is much cheaper. I will be starting in September 2026

My interest in living in the US is still there and I’ve been hoping to find some type of work/ opportunity in the US when I am off school in the summers to slowly build up a life and hopefully move after graduating. Could anyone help me with understanding what I can do to increase my chances of getting a seasonal job? I’ve heard that there are some opportunities to get jobs in the summer but I worry that me studying outside of the country may affect it. I currently have very limited work experience from a program in my high school which I know is not very strong in this case. I have also considered looking into jobs at national parks/ summer camps but I would prefer to be close to a city with a good social scene.

I would also have support from my family with initial costs like renting an apartment/ room but I would ultimately be paying for at least half of the bills myself. In terms of needing a US address I have family members willing to help with that and I already have my SSN.

I understand it may already be too late to work this summer so I am making plans to do this next year.

Any advice would be appreciated!
