Each significant design update from approx 2007 - 2025. South Carolina is unfortunately a victim of persistent busy design. The original Real ID design was a wall of text and generic state capitol building. The newest design kept the capitol building but did add more color and state symbols. Unfortunately it is still cluttered from being over-designed with too many security features. The text at least has a little more breathing room and is less squished together.

Each significant design update from approx 2010 - 2023. This was more difficult than usual, I couldn’t find any pics of older style DLs, even after contacting the DC DMV. But this was interesting because of how the cards alternate between “Washington DC” and “District of Columbia”. Overall lovely designs.

Each significant design update from approx 1991 - 2022. This is pretty interesting. New Jersey’s driver license has remained almost unchanged from the 2003 redesign. It seems they focused on material security instead of changing the overall look. With the most recent redesign only updating the state’s name color and NJMVC logo.
