What are your people's thoughts on buying replicas of expensive items to display?

Our community is quite diverse in terms of what we collect, our income which dictates what we can collect. I am curious what is YOUR opinion on people buying replicas of very expensive items to have on display?

For example, if someone bought an aged replica of a Fallschirmjager helmet for like £150~ instead of paying the several thousands for a geniune one as they really like the helmet, but obviously can't afford such an asking price for geniune stuff?

Edit: Thanks yall for the thoughts and a nice discussion ❤️

£25 for Afganka hat?

I don't think the badge is legit, every one I see has a much smaller and different looking one. Unfortunately once I got here by bike it was too little time to ask to see inside and get additional photos.

My tiny collection of shells/bullets I want to share. Both for £60 & £65 respectively. Gotta say, this is definitely my favourite sort of thing to collect besides replica guns.

This website said you can ask GPs for blood tests and they can offer it even if it is DIY. Regardless, what is your people's success with such requests? I don't like the complexity and price of booking private blood tests then sending samples out into the Ether.
