My many attempts to order cocktails on our weekend getaway trip were thwarted, and after the drive home that was delayed by a two hour pit stop to have a leak in our tire sealed, I determined that the road would end with whatever the hell I wanted it to. So here's my Black Manhattan Riff.
Ingredients:
- 2oz Old Forester 1910
- 1oz Cynar
- Fat 0.25oz Rich Demerara Syrup
- 6 Dashes Ango
Stir in a mixing glass until frigid. Strain into a single rocks glass over a large rock. Garnish with as many cherries as it takes to forget your road trip woes.
Feel like the double oaked plus cynar being, well, cynar, works famously. Please excuse my not using a coupe, I could not be bothered to do that in my given state.
